KBR has been involved in development assistance projects since 1980, working in more than 50 countries, particularly in Asia. These projects have helped us deliver clean water, flood protection and other essential infrastructure to millions of people.
Our success can be attributed to our absolute commitment to working with the project stakeholders - the community, the counterpart agencies and aid donors such as AusAID, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.
Through consultation, we draw on local expertise and experience to assist in the transfer of control and ownership to local stakeholders. The communities we work in can have confidence in our breadth and depth of experience, our well-developed project controls tools and reporting procedures.
KBR's Official Development Assistance (ODA) division in the Asia Pacific region manages:
- infrastructure development: engineering, project management and construction management in the areas of transport, water and wastewater, urban development and environmental management.
- governance and institutional development: training, systems and other resources for infrastructure management.
- capacity building: efficiency improvements and maximising of existing resources.
- community consultation: surveys, information programs, learning from traditional skills and practices.
